North East Open Studios at Upper Loop Studio 2013-2018
I have been very lucky to participate in the North East Open Studios at Upper Loop Studio - which is a huge source of inspiration.
Upper Loop studio has been through many phases - it started off as my dad's bike shed then my brother created his own man cave. Now it has been adapted in to a woodwork and pottery workshop/exhibition space.
The three bottom pictures were taken by the talented photographer and Gray's graduate, Abby Quick, who exhibited with us in 2018.
North East Sensory Services - Aberdeen Murals Projects - 2015-2016
At The North East Sensory Services, I designed and led a workshop for people of all ages to create a collaborative piece for their canteen/activities room.
The following year I was invited back to lead a workshop to create another mural with the group. At the very beginning they reminisced about Aberdeen and shared memories of visiting the parks. This was a great starting point in building the mural together.
"Up The GreenBrae Gourdas" Exhibition 2016
I worked with the Grampian Hospitals Art Trust after graduating which led me to have my first solo exhibition in The Small Gallery at Fosterhill. The work I made portrays memories of home, stories my parents' shared and life in my Gray's studio.
You can hear me talking about my process in the video.
"With Eyes Shut" Joint Exhibition 2015
It was a blast doing a joint exhibition with fellow painter, Julie-Ann Simpson, at The Art Centre, Aberdeen, and fascinating to see how our work interacted together.
